enchanted forests, high ridge trails, magic sunrise on pikey peak

remember the value of simplicity, as we enjoy the welcoming comfort of simple guesthouses, after a day spent walking in the peace of nepali hill country trails. experience the liberating sensation, when the turning thoughts of everday life gradually drop down below us. as we breathe in and out, we reconnect with the essence of life.

we join evening ceremonies (pujas) at the great monasteries of solu, allowing the sound frequencies of chanted mantras and sacred instruments to balance our minds and calm our spirits. the daytime we travel through enchanted forests, crossing ridges with magnificent views until we reach our destination: the inconspicious pikey peak, itself a mere grassy summit of 4000 m. asl.

but it is from this vantage point that the great himalayan range spreads out before and around us. looking straight at us, mt. sagarmatha. and all around her the great 7000 and 8000 m giants – from mt. kanchenjunga in the east to the annapurna range in the west. here we witness the splendour of a perfectly still sunrise, holding our breaths to the pure magic of the moment.
